Timber Point Capital Management, LLC is a New York–based boutique asset management firm providing customized, multi-asset investment solutions to a wide range of clients, including individual investors, institutions, financial advisors, and registered funds. In partnership with Fortis Capital Advisors, Timber Point has expanded its Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) capabilities to deliver comprehensive alternative investment solutions for institutional investors, advisors, and high-net-worth families.
Together, the firms offer tailored, research-driven investment oversight, portfolio construction, implementation, and ongoing risk management. The experienced principals of both firms collaborate to deliver broad multi-asset strategies encompassing global equities and fixed income as well as non-traditional alternatives such as private equity, private credit, and hedge funds.
Manish Shah, J.D.
Head of Alternatives
Manish Shah, J.D. has decades of experience investing across the capital stack and various alternative investment classes. He has served as a principal and manager of numerous real estate investments, including control equity, preferred equity, mezzanine and senior debt investments. His prior experience includes the turnaround of a publicly traded company (acquired NYSE: EMR) where he was responsible for business and real estate acquisitions and divestitures.
He began his career in the investment banking division of Bear Stearns and Morgan Stanley, for which he also worked on principal transactions in credit and venture. He has personally invested in venture, hedge, and private equity funds throughout his career. Mr. Shah has served on, or currently serves on, the Board of Advisors for Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, Harvard’s Real Estate Alumni Board and the boards of public and private technology companies.
Mr. Shah is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School.
Kirsten Stainer
Vice President, Alternatives
Kirsten Stainer has extensive experience managing institutional and private investor relationships while structuring and leading capital formation efforts across both debt and equity strategies. In addition to her experience in real estate, Kirsten has led Series A and B raises at Founders Fund and Battery Ventures backed startups and scaled enterprise revenue streams with teams at JPMorgan Chase and Clearwater Analytics.
Kirsten was an Associate at Sweetwood Ventures, where she conducted due diligence on emerging managers and managed family office relationships across the EU. She began her investment career as an Analyst at Millennium Partners, supporting FICC trading strategies within the firm’s multi-manager hedge fund platform.
Ms. Stainer is a graduate of New York University.
David Cleary, CFA
President and Chief Investment Officer
David Cleary, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer at Timber Point Capital Management and Fortis Capital Advisors. Prior to founding TPCM, he served as the Chief Investment Officer at Crow Point Partners. Before Crow Point, Mr. Cleary spent 23 years at Lazard Asset Management where he held a series of senior portfolio management roles over multi-asset and global fixed income strategies. Additionally, he served as the firm’s global head of fixed income, a $26 billion platform. Prior to Lazard, David worked at UBS and IBJ Schroder, mostly in fixed income asset management roles.
Mr. Cleary graduated from Cornell University, with a BS in Business Management and Applied Economics, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Patrick Mullin, CFA
Partner
Patrick Mullin, CFA is a Partner at Timber Point Capital Management and Director of Portfolio Management at Fortis Capital Advisors where he co-manages equity portfolios, in addition to business development efforts. Mr. Mullin also serves as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Ardara Capital, a small and mid-capitalization hedge fund founded in 2011. Prior to Ardara Capital, Mr. Mullin spent 10 years at Lazard Asset Management where he was the Portfolio Manager for the $3 billion AUM U.S. Small Cap portfolio, in addition to his analytical coverage of the energy, technology and healthcare industries.
Mr. Mullin is a graduate of Trinity College, has an M.B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Karol Krucinski, CFA
Director
Karol Krucinski, CFA, is a Director of Portfolio Management at Timber Point Capital Management and Fortis Capital Advisors where he co-manages investment strategy implementation and portfolio construction while leading the firm’s Direct Indexing platform and trading oversight. His client work encompasses developing customized portfolio solutions and analysis of complex investment scenarios including concentrated positions and tax-sensitive transitions. Karol’s experience spans quantitative analysis, portfolio optimization and risk management across diverse asset classes.
Mr. Krucinski is a graduate of the Bialystok School of Public Administration in Poland and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Victor A. Canto, Ph.D
Economic Consultant
Victor A. Canto, Ph.D. is the economic consultant to Timber Point Capital Management and the founder of La Jolla Economics Inc., an economics consulting firm.
He has served as Chief Investment Officer, Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at Calport Asset Management and as President and Director of Research at A. B. Laffer, V. A. Canto and Associates. He also served as an advisor to the Lazard Capital Allocator Series. Victor has been a trusted adviser to governments and a tenured finance and economics professor at the University of Southern California.
He received his doctorate in Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Diane Decaprio
Operations Consultant
Diane DeCaprio is an operations consultant to Timber Point Capital and Fortis Capital Advisors.
From 2017 to 2020, Diane served as Director of Operations at Crow Point Partners. Diane spent ten years in equity research at Dillon Read, Furman Selz, and ING Group, primarily as an analyst covering the capital goods and manufacturing sectors.
Ms. Decaprio previously held FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. Diane graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics.
